This is my first photography class and I really enjoyed it. Everything was easy to understand and Orlando took the time to make sure everyone was looked after depending on their individual experience and their type of camera. It was a great day of learning and getting more comfortable with manual mode on my camera and learning a little bit of the science behind it all. Good location choice as easy parking and amenities. Great group size too! Will definitely attend more classes soon.

It was good that everyone had the basics of photography so we could move on to specific techniques. I got a lot of the discussion relating to working with people. It was great to have a professional model available.

It was interesting to walk around three of the best pieces of architecture in Canberra and try to identify new angles and views. He took the time to look at some of our photographs and suggest angles and explained use of leading lines, rule of thirds, how to use bracketing etc.

Really helpful. PJ was good at instructing and brought forward a lot of small little nugget of information that I was unaware of. Given the session was more inclined towards bringing out the creativity and not fiddling with the settings, I enjoyed it even more. PJ was really perceptive and quickly realised that the group had fundamental knowledge of photography and focused more on giving us space to try things ourselves. A smaller group was appreciated.

It was a very foggy morning when i arrived at the Arboretum, the for was just rolling in and out. At one time it was completely covered! And i was about to go when it lifted in some areas, that was when i took this particular shot. The rising sun and the clouds created a dreamy shot with the sun creating some shadows on the contours.

Shot through the glass of a caf? window in Canberra during the late afternoon, this image layers reflections, interior light, and street movement into a single frame. I was drawn to how the subject becomes partially obscured?present, but not fully seen?mirroring that quiet feeling of being surrounded by a city yet slightly disconnected from it.The overlapping posters, lights, and reflections weren?t avoided but embraced, aiming to capture the complexity and density of urban life. This photograph was captured at the National Arboretum in the Australian Capital Territory on 20 December 2025.The weather was intense and dramatic, with mammatus clouds filling the sky. Although it had been raining earlier, the rain had stopped by the time I began shooting. I had no initial plan to photograph lightning, but the conditions created an incredible opportunity around 8:40 pm after spending several hours at the location. Without hesitation, I set up my camera on a tripod and star

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
